Here is what to expect this week for you and your baby.

  • Baby is about 2.4kg and rapidly gaining
  • Kidneys fully developed
  • Liver can process some waste products
  • Most physical development complete — focus on weight gain

Common Symptoms

  • Lightening — baby drops into pelvis (engagement)
  • Easier breathing as baby moves down
  • Increased pelvic pressure and discomfort
  • Frequent urination reaches peak

Tips & Advice

  • Finalize your hospital bag — keep it near the door
  • Install the car seat if you have a car
  • Stock up on postpartum essentials: maternity pads, nursing bras

Nutrition Guide

  • Dates: continue 6 per day for potential easier labour
  • Fenugreek (methi): supports lactation post-delivery
  • Protein: eggs, paneer, lentils for tissue building

When to see your doctor at week 35

Some symptoms need attention right away. Contact your doctor or go to the nearest hospital if you notice any of these:

  • Heavy bleeding (soaking a pad within an hour)
  • Severe or persistent abdominal or pelvic pain
  • Fever above 38°C (100.4°F)
  • Sudden severe headache, blurred vision or upper-abdominal pain (possible preeclampsia)
  • Decreased fetal movement after week 24 (fewer than 10 movements in 2 hours)
  • Watery fluid leak from the vagina before 37 weeks (possible PPROM)
  • Regular contractions before 37 weeks (possible preterm labour)
