What Is Implantation?
Implantation is when a fertilised egg attaches to the uterine lining:
- Typically occurs 6-12 days past ovulation (DPO)
- Most common on day 9 DPO (peak likelihood)
- After implantation, hCG hormone starts rising
Common Implantation Symptoms
- Implantation bleeding - light spotting or pink/brown discharge
- Mild cramping in the lower abdomen
- Breast tenderness or swelling
- Fatigue and increased need for rest
- Slight rise in basal body temperature
