What Is Implantation?

Implantation is when a fertilised egg attaches to the uterine lining:

  • Typically occurs 6-12 days past ovulation (DPO)
  • Most common on day 9 DPO (peak likelihood)
  • After implantation, hCG hormone starts rising

Common Implantation Symptoms

  • Implantation bleeding - light spotting or pink/brown discharge
  • Mild cramping in the lower abdomen
  • Breast tenderness or swelling
  • Fatigue and increased need for rest
  • Slight rise in basal body temperature
